about

The general separation of worker and product tends to eliminate any direct personal communication between the producers and any comprehensive sense of what they are producing. With the increasing accumulation of separate products and the increasing concentration of the productive process, communication and comprehension are monopolized by the managers of the system. The triumph of this separation-based economic system proletarianizes the whole world.

lyrics

I hope you like those flowers I gave you
I was told they’d be well received
And all those things that I said
I’m hoping they’ll be believed
‘cause everything that we don’t have is everything we want
and everything that we should be is everything we’re not

When I look into your eyes
A part of me dies
I’m not real to you and you’re not real to me
There’s so much static on TV

We’re just copies and copies of celebrities
I stole my love songs from MTV
I know what you’ll say, you know what I’ll say
We’ve seen the same movies
We could get so close, oh we could get so close
But we’d never really meet
